Jakarta – The Acting Regent of Jeneponto, Junaedi Bakri, had the honor to be a resource person in a public lecture at the Jakarta State University (UNJ). This activity carries the theme "Strengthening the Socio-Economic Sector for Food Security in the Era of Climate Change and Global Food Crisis."

On this occasion, Junaedi Bakri expressed his appreciation and gratitude to UNJ for the invitation given. He views this academic forum as a strategic forum for sharing knowledge, experience, and strengthening collaboration between local governments and the world of education in facing global challenges, especially in the field of food security.

He explained that Jeneponto Regency has great potential in the agricultural sector, but still faces various obstacles such as limited fertilizer, seed quality and access to financing for farmers. Therefore, he emphasized the importance of synergy between government, academics and business actors to strengthen sustainable agricultural systems and improve the welfare of farming communities.

Apart from that, Junaedi Bakri highlighted that the global climate and food crisis demands innovation and adaptive policies. Regional governments, according to him, must continue to be committed to encouraging strategic programs such as agricultural People's Business Credit (KUR), increasing farmer capacity, and utilizing environmentally friendly agricultural technology.

It is also hoped that this public lecture activity will be the first step in expanding the cooperation network between the Jeneponto Regency Government and Jakarta State University, especially in the field of research and development of scientific and data-based food security policies.
