Jakarta, 26 May 2024 — The DKI Jakarta Indonesian New Generation Community (GenBI), which consists of students receiving Bank Indonesia Scholarships from various universities in the DKI Jakarta area, has successfully carried out social activities entitled "GenBI Serving 2024" with the theme "Serving from the Heart for the Country (Mentari)".

This activity was held for two days, on 25–26 May 2024, located on Tidung Island, Thousand Islands, involving the active participation of students from Jakarta State University (UNJ), UPN Veteran Jakarta, Trilogi University, and Indonesia Banking School (IBS).

Encouraging Financial Literacy and Environmental Awareness

The GenBI Serves program is a concrete form of GenBI Jakarta's contribution in supporting Bank Indonesia programs, especially in increasing financial literacy and digital education in the community.

On the first day, activities focused on the GenBI Mengajar program which was implemented at the Tidung Ceria RPTRA. GenBI members provide education to elementary school children about Love, Proud, Understanding the Rupiah (CBPR) and socialize QRIS to Tidung Island MSMEs.

Meanwhile, on the second day, activities continued with the planting of 80 mangrove seedlings on Tidung Kecil Island. This action is a concrete form of GenBI's concern for environmental preservation and is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 4 (Quality Education) and point 14 (Protecting Marine Ecosystems).

Cross-Campus Synergy in the Spirit of Service

This GenBI Serve activity is a forum for synergy and collaboration between students receiving Bank Indonesia scholarships on various campuses. The implementation of the activity went well thanks to the cooperation and commitment of the entire committee. Through the GenBI Serving activities, GenBI Jakarta strives to realize sustainable contributions to society, especially in the fields of education, digital economy and environmental preservation.

This program is expected to become a consistent annual agenda and continue to provide benefits to society and strengthen GenBI's role as a strategic partner of Bank Indonesia in developing a young generation with integrity, competitiveness and a high social spirit.
