Jakarta, November 2024 — In commemoration of Indonesian Tree Planting Day and Heroes' Day, KMPA (Nature Lovers Student Group) Eka Citra Jakarta State University (UNJ) carried out an environmental conservation activity entitled "Mangrove Green Trail".

This activity was held on 26 November 2024 and 30 November 2024, as a concrete manifestation of UNJ students' commitment to preserving coastal ecosystems through planting mangrove trees. The "Mangrove Green Trail" program is an initiative of KMPA Eka Citra UNJ which focuses on planting and rehabilitating mangrove areas. In this activity, students and volunteers planted mangrove seedlings in coastal areas of Jakarta that needed restoration of coastal vegetation.

This environmental action is a symbol of real steps taken by UNJ students in building ecological awareness while strengthening the role of the younger generation as the front guard of nature conservation. Through this activity, KMPA Eka Citra wants to emphasize that protecting the environment is part of the modern struggle, continuing the spirit of heroism in the context of environmental sustainability. The activities carried out on two different dates also have symbolic meaning.

November 26 2024 was chosen to commemorate Indonesian Tree Planting Day, while activities on November 30 2024 coincided with the momentum of Heroes' Day, which was interpreted by participants as a form of "giving goodness to the earth" through planting mangroves. Through this activity, KMPA Eka Citra UNJ wants to instill the values ​​of patriotism and environmental concern in a concrete way, protecting the earth as a valuable heritage for the next generation. The "Mangrove Green Trail" activity is not the first time this has been carried out.

A similar program was also implemented in November 2022 to commemorate Heroes' Day, as reported by Wartapala Indonesia and the KEHATI Foundation. This consistency shows that KMPA Eka Citra UNJ is continuously carrying out its role in environmental education and preserving coastal ecosystems.
