JAKARTA – Jakarta State University (UNJ) has reiterated its commitment to global sustainability by actively participating in the prestigious THE 2025 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings Results and Award Ceremony with Roundtable Forum. This international event was held at National Chi Nan University (NCNU), Taiwan, from 4 to 6 December 2025, and was attended by representatives from 19 countries around the world.

UNJ was represented by two important delegates, namely the Head of Information Systems and Ranking Sub-Directorate, Tian Abdul Aziz, Ph.D., and the Expert Staff of the Vice Chancellor III, Massus Subekti, S.T., MT. UNJ's participation in this forum is not just attending a ceremony, but is part of the university's strategy to continue to encourage sustainable campus practices (green campus) in Indonesia.

UNJ's participation in the series of UI GreenMetric activities and processes in Taiwan has seven very strategic main objectives, namely: Carrying out a comprehensive evaluation of campus sustainability through GreenMetric indicators, to get an objective picture of actual conditions and identify areas that need improvement; Improving the quality of campus environmental planning, policies and management, especially regarding energy savings, emission reduction, waste and water management, environmentally friendly transportation, and green space development; Strengthening the internal capacity and competence of the academic community through learning, workshops and exchanging best practices with international universities that have advanced in implementing sustainable campuses; Improving UNJ's reputation and position in the international arena, especially in terms of commitment to sustainability, which contributes to the institution's competitiveness; Encouraging the integration of sustainability values ​​into curriculum, research and campus culture, creating an academic ecosystem that is more environmentally conscious; Building regional and global collaboration networks, especially with GreenMetric member universities, to strengthen synergy and innovation in green campus development; Make a real contribution to the national and global sustainable development agenda, while ensuring that UNJ plays an active role in efforts to mitigate climate change and preserve the environment.

Through participation in this international forum, UNJ not only seeks to improve its position in world rankings, but also strengthens its role as a higher education institution responsible for creating a greener and more sustainable future.
